Who we are
We are two sisters born and raised in the Southern California hotbed of volleyball, introduced to the sport by our mother around the age of six and guided by our father, a former Division I college baseball coach. Our journey into athletics continued under the mentorship of elite USA Volleyball, professional, and high-level athletes and coaches. With a foundation built on discipline, competitiveness, and a deep love for sports, we honed our skills in competitive club volleyball, which propelled us into highly successful college careers.
As seasoned volleyball players with extensive experience at the collegiate level, we’ve recognized a growing demand for quality coaching in the Lowcountry. Many young athletes are missing out on the fundamental skill development and advanced techniques that are essential for success in volleyball. Our mission is to bridge this gap by offering specialized, high-level training focused on both skill refinement and game strategy. We are committed to providing athletes with the tools they need to excel, ensuring that players in this region receive the same caliber of coaching that helped shape our careers.
Emily began her collegiate career at Campbell University, where she was a 4-year starter and a driving force behind the program’s most significant achievements. She played a pivotal role in leading Campbell to its first-ever conference championship and NCAA tournament appearance, solidifying her place in the winningest class in program history. After this remarkable chapter, Emily transferred to LSU, one of the premier athletic programs in the country, to utilize her extra year of eligibility. Competing in the rigorous Southeastern Conference (SEC), renowned as one of the toughest and most elite Power 5 conferences in NCAA volleyball, she became a starting setter for the Tigers, surpassing 2,000 career assists. Her contributions extended beyond the indoor game—Emily also competed for LSU's top-ranked beach volleyball team, where they reached the NCAA Final Four, a testament to the high level of competition and excellence at LSU.
Marissa played club volleyball for Troy under the legendary Mick Haley, former USC coach, and quickly established herself as a standout player. She continued her dominance at Anderson University, where she had an extraordinary four-year career. Marissa earned Honorable Mention All-Region accolades from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) three out of her four years—an impressive testament to her consistency and talent. In 2017, she was named First-Team All-South Atlantic Conference and was honored as Anderson University’s Female Athlete of the Year in 2018. Marissa finished her career ranked 7th in school history for career kills, cementing her legacy as one of the program’s most accomplished players.
Coaching Experience Both of us began our coaching careers in high school, working with local clubs such as Sunshine and Surfside, gaining hands-on experience early on. Emily had the privilege of being mentored by Alfee Reft, a USA National Team libero, and learned from several other top national team players and coaches. Throughout her college years, she returned home to coach for Sunshine and Vibe Volleyball Lab in El Segundo, California. Marissa began her coaching journey with Surfside in California before relocating to South Carolina, where she now serves as the head coach for Cross Schools. Together, we bring a wealth of knowledge, shaped by the incredible mentors who guided us in addition to our own discoveries of what works best for the athletes we’ve had the pleasure of coaching.
